Lunar Waning

Take advantage of this time to:

  • Identify beliefs that aren't serving you
  • Focus on a gratitude journal
  • Create magical movies
  • Create and work with new affirmations
  • Cast spells for clearing

Anything you're wanting to shrink or get rid of is what you need to be working with during this part of the cycle.

If you've been at odds with a person or situation, now would be the time to create affirmations or do spell work to let go and clear your attachments so things may resolve themselves.

You may also find it helpful to think about intentions for the next waxing cycle so you may spend this time in preparation for intention setting or spell work in the next new moon. The waning cycle is wonderful for laying the ground work for whatever you intend to focus on in the near future.

Happy Manifesting!

Welcome!
♥This site is dedicated to my life.

The things you will find here are the things that interest me. I enjoy talking about how I find balance in my life. Balance in all areas including home organization (I'm a homemaker), my marriage and family life, my Spirituality, and anything else you can think of.

I volunteer at my boys' elementary school weekly. I'm all about healthy eating and strive toward daily exercise. I'm mildly political, but that's mostly in the sense that I'm against politics. I don't believe in being a sheep and doing what "They" say just because "They" say it.

I hope you find something here for you. If you don't, I understand :) We can't all be the same. That would be boring!

Always feel free to contact me!

Sincerely,

You Say Potato, I Say Organic

Good Friday morning to all of you beautiful bloggies!
I feel so great about the next few days. As many of you know, Ash and I have decided to do a group abundance ritual/meditation tonight. You can find the details for it here.

At 5:55 EST this morning, the moon entered into the house of Taurus.

My almanac says:In Taurus, thing begun DO last, tend to increase in their value, and become hard to alter. Brings out an appreciation for beauty and sensory experience.

She’ll be in Taurus until She v/c @ 7:15 am on Sunday 02-21 until 1:47pm when She settles into Gemini.

I intend to attend my group ritual tonight and charge my money clip talisman and spend time meditating on the abundance all around. Thursday I ventured into the snowy wood to leave gifts of coins and beautiful stones for my Earthy Elementals. Saturday I will do it again. Taurus brings out an appreciation for beauty and there’s nothing I find more beautiful than the sanctity of nature.

I foresee a lazy Sunday morning. With the moon v/c, I like to take my cue to just chill! And what better time to chill with my family than on a lazy Sunday morning.

The moon will be headed straight into airy Gemini Sunday afternoon @ 1:47pm, but I’ll see you again before then. *wink*

You Say Potato, I Say Organic

I am sold.  I am all about the organic potato.  This wasn’t always the case however.

Why I didn’t want to try them.

I can buy a 10 pound bag of Idaho potatoes for $3 or I can buy a 3 pound bag of organic potatoes for $2.50.  Unfortunately math was my strong subject.

Why I decided to try them.

I stumbled upon a top 10 list of produce that retains the highest percentages of chemicals and are best bought organic. Potatoes were #1.  Coffee was #2, but with the amount of coffee I drink, I’d go broke!  One change at a time please.

Why I’m sold.

I bought the 3# of organic potatoes for $2.50.  *cringes* I took them home and the first thing I made with them was french fries.  I scrubbed them with my produce brush (LG fingernail brush), put them through the french fry cutter and dropped them into a bag with some olive oil and sea salt.  I shook them around to coat them and threw them into a 400 degree oven on parchment paper for about 15 minutes.

1* Normally I do up a bunch of potatoes and bake them.  We eat.  What’s left is left.  Usually the dogs get what’s left.  ~  How much money was I wasting by OVER cooking so often.  As I cut up the expensive organics, I was much more conscious to the amount that I would need and I even put out more vegetables to compensate for the smaller amount of potatoes.  Everyone ate everything.

2* These were, by far, the best tasting potatoes I’ve ever eaten.  I didn’t even realize that potatoes really HAD a flavor.  I always thought of them as bland and absorbing whatever flavor they’re added to, but that’s not true.  Potatoes are phenomenally delicious!

So that’s my testimonial for spending the extra money and buying the organic potatoes.  Give them a try, you won’t be sorry!

The Moonday Manifestor

Well, I’m delighted to report that I count last week as a total success!
I didn’t get to one of the things I’d intended to see, but I know I’m resisting it, so I guess I’ll have to figure out the why of it so I can move forward.

Before I get into the moon manifesting portion, I wanted to talk a little about why I’m doing this. Why I’m writing this series of posts every Monday (except the one I missed..shh).

This little weekly publication I’m doing is part of my New Years Resolution & Theme Word. This theme word is a fantastic idea I got from my friend Annie. And while I don’t really believe in new years resolutions, there is a goal I wanted to spend time focusing upon in the coming year.

As soon as I read about Her theme word on her blog, I immediately knew what my theme word was. It’s been the theme surrounding my entire life lately. Becoming. What I’m Becoming. Who I’m Becoming. Thing is, I have been, Becoming, for a long time now. It’s just that I can actually identify what I’ve turned into, so now my Becoming is on a much more conscious level.

Which brings me to the resolution part. I’d set a goal on the winter solstice to more consciously walk this path I’ve chosen and allow myself to Become (there’s that word again) the person whom I feel pulled toward being.

This is where The Moonday Manifestor comes in.

This is real for me. What I write. Here in this little publication and in every other that fills my blog. It’s my life and how I feel and what I think and what moves me to write. Right now, the moon moves me.

So as I talk about which house the moon is in and when and what that means to me and how I’m planning my life to take that into consideration, it’s truth. It’s my real life. It’s something that I’m doing to focus myself upon my path and the Becoming of Myself.

It’s a small thing, but it’s an action. It’s SOMEthing. I’m pointing myself in the direction in which I intend to travel. That’s all we really need to do. Know where the end destination is, and then do SOMEthing that points you in that general direction. Then listen to the Universe speak all around you and allow it to move you with the flow.

~ The Moonday Manifestor ~

~ Astrologically ~
That beautiful moon entered Sagittarius at the end of last week @ 7:04pm on Saturday and will remain in that house until Tuesday (2-9-10) @ 5:43am when it will enter Capricorn.

My almanac says: Sagittarius encourages flights of imagination and confidence. This moon sign is adventurous, philosophical, and athletic. Favors expansion and growth.

~ Personally ~
Here I am, expanding and growing. Right now as I research my celestial love and plan my life around Her energy, I grow. I’ve been having flights of imagination propped up upon some confidence and it’s been feeling wonderfully.

The business I’d spoken briefly of starting last week didn’t manifest the way I thought it would, but that’s life. Full of surprises. It certainly didn’t fail to manifest, it just wasn’t what I had in mind. But it’s all good because this way is even better. I’m going to continue letting Sagittarius encourage my imagination. Each moment spent imagining my outcome is productive.

And speaking of athletic, I’ve decided to start doing yoga again and had my first stretch of it this morning. Pun intended. I’m feeling like a punny girl today :)

~ Astrologically ~
The moon comes into the house of Capricorn on Tuesday morning (2-9-10) @ 5:43am and stays through til Thursday morning (2-11-10) @ 7:39am when it goes void of course until 6:24pm.

My almanac says: Capricorn develops strong structure. Focus on traditions, responsibilities, and obligations. A good time to set boundaries and rules.

~ Personally ~
Tuesday & Wednesday will assuredly hold responsibilities and obligations for me. I must go to our rental house and spend a good portion of time this week cleaning and painting. These 2 days are looking like the days.

Traditions are also important and being that Wednesday is the day Kris and I get together for brunch and coffee, I’ll be sure to be available for her and plan my obligations around our time together. I have my volunteer time with the second graders @ school Wednesday morning anyway so I guess it’ll be an afternoon of obligation preceded by a morning of giving, kindness, great friends, and good coffee. Sounds like a good day to me!

It’s good to know that these are the things that need my focus most and the Universe not only supports me in what I’m doing, but almost seems to be pushing me in the right direction.

Thursday morning (2-11-10) @ 7:39am the moon goes void of course until 6:24pm. That means chaotic energy and I will be found doing not much of anything. I take it as my resting period. I don’t worry about anything or work toward anything. For all intents and purposes, it is my magical resting period. I allow my life to just Be as it is and enjoy it. Purposefully. Maybe I’ll take the dogs on an outing. With the cold weather of late, we’ve not had many outings.

~ Astrologically ~
Thursday evening @ 6:24pm the moon will enter the house of Aquarius where She will remain until Saturday night @ 11:33pm when She will again VC until 7:23am Sunday morning at which time She’ll enter Pisces. Right before She voids Her course Saturday night, we welcome in a New Moon @ 9:51pm.

My almanac says: Aquarius is a rebellious energy. Time to break habits and make abrupt change. Personal freedom and individuality is the focus.

~ Personally ~
Thursday evening through bedtime Saturday night is spent in Aquarius. Habit breaking and abrupt change. Personal freedom and individuality. With that new moon coming in @ 9:51pm, when I wake up Sunday morning, the new cycle will have begun. I LOVE this time of the month.

According to Cafe Astrology *In the sign of Aquarius, friendship, brotherhood, group activities, social pursuits, group projects, trying something new, humanitarian efforts, or joining a group will be a strong focus on a personal level. New beginnings*

The “trying something new” and “humanitarian efforts” are the ones jumping out to conk me on the head so they will be my focus from Thursday evening through Saturday. I’ll let you know how that pans out next week!

~ Astrologically ~
Sunday morning @ 7:23am the January New Moon will right Her course and enter the house of Pisces where we will pick Her up again next Moonday.
My almanac says: Pisces has a focus on dreaming, nostalgia, intuition, and psychic impressions. A good time for Spiritual or philanthropic activities.

~ Personally ~
Sundays are wonderful in my opinion. As a child I was taught to “Remember the Sabbath and to keep it holy” and so I do. Sunday in my home is restful. Enjoyed. I garden and plant and meditate. We might work on our remodel, but that’s still holy. To us at least. It’s not about “out there”. It’s about in here. Us, our family, being together and loving each other and reconnecting to ourselves as much as each other.

Dreaming and nostalgia are naturally on my to-do list for Sundays. My husband and I will sit at the table with coffee talking of days past and manifestations to come. THAT is what I will be doing this Sunday.

We’re also going to be officially initiating a “Family Game Night” for Sunday evenings. We play together a lot, but not as regularly as we used to. I intend to remedy that!

You are Awesome!

No, really. Regardless of what you do for a living or what mistakes you’ve made in your past. The fact that you are sitting in your chair, right now, reading this makes you awesome.

Today is Sunday and being raised Christian, I automatically observe Sunday as the day of Spirit. Not a day of rest really, but a day in which I consciously seek connection to Spirit in the things that I do. Sunday is the day I water and/or feed my plants. I enjoy weed pulling and gardening on Sundays too. There’s just something wonderfully grounding (pun intended) about having your hands in the dirt and encouraging the Spirit around you into growth.

I like to spend Sunday playing with my children. The 2 AND 4 legged varieties. It’s the day of relaxation, enjoyment, love, reflection, a counting of one’s blessings.

Sometimes I find myself completely struck speechless by the wonder that is me. And you. Us! We are amazing! Today is one of those times. In the spirit of our collective AWESOMENESS, I’d like to present you with this wonderful video. Deepak Chopra really has a way of expressing the magnitude of our divinity that I love.

Happy Spirit Day to you and yours! May you find a direct line to the Source of all that is good and be in peace.

September Peeks In

Happy Spirit Day!!

I keep having the human pineal glad pulled into my awareness via synchronicity, so I decided to do some research today. I found out some pretty awesome things!

  1. Fluoride (which is a POISON) accumulates in the pineal glad and can trigger early puberty in children. No wonder there’s so much teen aged pregnancy! They put poison in the water and biology takes care of the rest.

  2. DMT is a chemical secreted by the pineal glad that is said to be highly hallucinogenic.
  3. The pineal glad is recognized through all major religions as an important link between the human and the spirit. That’s right! Not JUST the eastern religions, but Catholicism too.

The pineal glad is associated with the brow chakra, or third eye. In looking through search results in my research, I ended up on youtube watching videos on the 7 chakras. Focusing on chakra meditation is something I’ve been wanting to do for quite some time now.

I considered for a moment, the idea that I’d ended up watching videos about chakras from a search about the pineal glad. I’ve been wanting to do that. Maybe I’ll do a month of chakra meditations. OOoo I could blog about it. How convenient that a new month starts in just one day. Then I thought…. If I was going to do it, I’d want to start with the base chakra on a Monday so I’d end up at the crown on Sunday. What a coincidence…. tomorrow is Monday.

SO! That’s what I’m going to do. I’m going to start tomorrow and focus on one chakra each day, starting with the base/root chakra.
I just love synchronicity. It’s always gently suggesting the best ideas.

I’m looking forward to my first official, back to school, Day Spa Monday tomorrow.
I intend to soak and exfoliate and clip and shave and pluck and buff and externally renew and beautify!! I’ve missed having my own time. I’m going to start the day by going for a bike ride with the dogs and then make a quick run to the bank. I’ll stop at the store on my way home and then I won’t have to leave again for the rest of the day.

Then it will just be me, the huge, bubble filled, candle encircled bath tub and all the DIY Day Spa Monday equipment in my arsenal. I think the tub will be the location of my first official chakra meditation. I suppose I’ll have to nail down a guided chakra meditation to start with. I love my MP3 player :)

I hope you all had a fantatic weekend.
When you wake up tomorrow, start the day by listing 10 things that will be GREAT about your day.

It’s a wonderful way to start your day and a phenomenal way to start your week.

Random Acts of Kindness

Happy Spirit Day!

Well, we were all ready to rent our rental house to a group of 3 couples. They were in their early 20s. The guys all worked full time and the girls were all in school. While we were waiting for them to call and say they’d take it, we got another call about it.

Scott was a little uncomfortable with the idea of having six young people living in our house anyway. Kids in their twenties aren’t known for being irresponsible partiers for no reason. I’m pretty laid back and was ready to go wherever the flow told me to in spite of his worrying. As it turned out, the flow was sending us somewhere else.

I got a call from a housing corporation. They’re working in conjunction with an insurance company to find temporary housing for a woman and her two teen aged children because theire house burned down and they’re living in a motel room.

My heart immediately went out to this woman. I met with her to show her the house and found out that, just over a year ago, masked men walked into her home in the wee morning hours and shot and killed her husband right in front of her and her kids. Then, over the past year she’s had to have multiple surgeries on her ankle. Now her house has burned down.  This woman has had one rough year.

It has become very important to me to help this woman any way I can. I went out of my way to have the water turned on in the house. It’s her responsibility, but if I did it, it would go on immediately. She’d have had to wait til this coming week when she has the signed rental agreement. So it was easier and faster for me to do it for her.

I also went back over to the house yesterday to open the door for the furniture rental company so they could get in and furnish the house for her. Our standard procedure is to not allow access until the lease is signed and money has been exchanged, but this poor woman is living in a motel. I feel that anything I can do to help her get moved out of there and into a real home is unique unto me and it’s up to me to share this caring and empathy with her and her family.

I have to go back over there at 8am Monday morning to be there so they can turn her gas on. The lease takes effect Monday so once I let them in to turn the gas on, I should be able to turn over the keys so she can move what few things she still has, into her new temporary home.

I feel so grateful that I’m able to help this woman so much. I even have a TON of leftover yard sale stuff from last month’s yard sale. All the women’s clothes I have are HER size, if you can believe that!! I told her I’d bring them all over for her. She can keep and wear what she wants and give or throw away the rest.

The furniture rental company REALLY hooked her up. She even has dishes and sheets and towels. What they DON’T have, however, is simple things like cleaning supplies, toilet paper, feminine products (both teens are girls too), laundry soap, dish soap, cooking utensils, soap and shampoo, etc…

I want to appeal to my readers for help and I’m going to think positive thoughts and expect the best. I’d like to take a collection to help them get these stupid little household things that they don’t have yet.

If only 20 people read this and donate a simple $2, that’d be $40 in household supplies. That’s not a ton, but she doesn’t need too much and just $40 would help her tremendously. I intend to MATCH every donation received so dig deep, be generous and help me go broke please! Let this be your random act of kindness for the week. I can tell you that no one would appreciate it more than this woman.

Thank you all for your attention and empathy.

I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

My Lesson in Allowing

I was sitting on my porch Sunday, just enjoying the beautiful sunshine, and there were 4 hummingbirds that kept coming in pairs to dart and weave around each other and the feeder,  eat, and then buzz away in the direction hummingbird (165 x 152)they came from. One pair had the brightly iridescent feathers and the ruby throat. The other pair were VERY tiny and mostly shades of brown.

I saw a picture once, of a woman with sugar water in a red plastic bottle cap and there were hummingbirds eating right out of her hand. I always thought that was really neat and knowing that I had some bottle caps, I went to retrieve a red one.

I stood with my face a mere 10 inches from that hummingbird feeder and held my bottle cap up near where the other feeder holes were, trying to sort of “blend in” which in retrospect is really stupid. LOL!

They kept coming down near me and buzzing around as though investigating and then off they’d go. None of the 4 wanted to eat from the cap OR the feeder as I stood there.

That got me thinking about my vibration.
I know my dog senses how I feel and what I want from my energy, so of course these birds would too. I took a couple deep breaths and loosened up a bit. They came back, made their rotation and off they went again.

Hmmmm….
Still no feeding. I did an quick inner body scan to look for tension. There’s something about ME that’s keeping them at bay.

I don’t need to make them come, I need to ALLOW them to come. I need to create an environment pleasing to them and allow them to be attracted to it.

Then I thought of Ho’opono’pono (?) and as I stood there consciously relaxing my body, I started to repeat in my mind “I’m sorry, I love you, Please forgive me, Thank you” and I smiled a big warm happy smile.

After about 30 seconds, the red throated pair came down and dodged and weaved around each other, chirping and twittering and both landed right on the feeder, 10 inches in front of my face. I watched, transfixed, as they slid their long beaks down into the fake flower chute and then withdrew flicking their tiny tongues in and out of their beak tips, licking off the excess sweetness.

Off they flew and seconds later, with the chant still repeating in my mind, the other pair came down and both landed on the exact same flowers, RIGHT in front of my face. Not on the other side, away from me where they might feel safer. RIGHT in front of me where I could snatch them right out of the air.

They no longer seemed bothered by me in the least bit.

I ended up putting my bottle cap down and just stood there, nearly touching the feeder and allowed them to buzz around me. At one point, I was afraid they’re run into me the way they scoot around as though riding an invisible wave. I had to force myself to stand still.

Then they flew away. When they came back, they buzzed around me as though investigating again, and then flew off.

“Why aren’t they playing and eating anymore?” I wondered.

Then I realized, it was my thoughts of fear at being hit by one of them.
I stood there and thought about it a moment. The only thing I’ve ever seen a hummingbird run into is a window, and I KNOW that’s because they see through it and don’t realize it’s there. They don’t run into trees or bushes or whatever. They know what their doing. Nature knows what it’s doing. Their dance is perfectly choreographed and will automatically adapt to my being included.

And with that, I took a deep breath and relaxed and allowed them to come back and allowed them to do their dance for me without anymore interference from me or my energy.

They were so beautiful. So graceful. Stunning!

I found that I was really enjoying the way I felt as I stood there totally in awe at the splendor of life and purposefully and consciously “Allowing” it to take place before my eyes. It really put me in the flow.

SO!

Consciously creating your life is like letting hummingbirds buzz around your head.

There are some near misses. And the nearer the miss, the more exciting it is because it’ll always BE a near miss. You’ll always be okay. It’ll always work out right because it’s a perfectly choreographed dance and will automatically adapt to you being included.
Nature knows what it’s doing. God knows what it’s doing. Take a deep breath, relax yourself, plaster a BIG smile on your face, find something stunning to look at and ALLOW life to unfold for you.

Happy Spirit Day!

CloudsI really love Sundays.
Not the ice cream treat, the day of the week. Well… the ice cream treat too… but this post is about the day of the week!

I grew up going to Sunday School every week so it wasn’t that far of a stretch for me to begin my own Spiritual practices on Sundays. I feel that it’s important for my personal and Spiritual growth to have a day of the week in which those things are my main focus.

That doesn’t mean my life stops and I sit in my bedroom with the curtains drawn and light candles and meditate all zen like for the day. Any parent alive knows it can be difficult to find five MINUTES in which to do that, let alone a whole day.

I DO try to spend time in nature if at all possible. For instance, today I’ll go out and weed in my garden. I always feel so “at one” with everything in the Universe when I sit in nature. One of my favorite things in the WORLD to do is to weed around and tend to my plants while mentally communicating extremely loving and grateful thoughts to them.

I know loads of people talk to their plants and I’ve always thought that was really cool. I mean, plants are alive. WhyFlower Garden wouldn’t caring affection affect them as it does any other living thing? Then it just struck me one day. Gardening is a very meditative task already. If I talk to my plants and fill myself and them with words of love and gratitude while in that meditative state, it’d be like Spiritual Miracle Grow! And it is. That’s why I do it. It makes me feel fantastic!

I try not to plan things on Sundays. I try not to go places on Sunday. Even if we’re all in separate corners of the property, my family spends the day together. We’re very close knit. I want to know my husband and children and I want them to know me.

I don’t want to wake up one day to find that one of them isn’t who I thought they were. I want to reinvent them regularly in my mind and learn from them and see their growth. They are new people every day. I want to ensure that I always have Sundays in which to meet the new them they’ve become in the past 7 days. They’ve grown and so have I. Sharing that growth is what unites us as a family.

I believe that when you dedicate a portion of your time regularly to being in love and Spirit, that same energy you send out some back to you in manifest form. So you want to add your energy and focus it. If you can’t do it for an entire day, start with just 10 minutes a week. Spend just 10 minutes a week focused on sending love and feeling love and the warm vibrant energy of the Universe.

The Universe is going to send into your life whatever you ask it for. Why not ask it, in a purposeful way, to send back loving energy?

I hope you’re all finding the growth you seek on this beautiful Sunday morning!
