Happy New Moon

Good morning my friends!!

I’ve been feeling very inspired to make some changes in my life lately.  I could feel it as we were inching closer to the New Moon and so I decided that this is the day I will begin.  I’m going to start my day by cleaning by the front door.  The area inside the door, the porch outside the door, the door itself, and it’s window.  Then I’m going to take my broom out and sweep.

This is a symbolic ritual for clearing a path for all my new manifestations and abundance to get in.  It’s all about intention and focus.  I love the sweeping most.  Knowing that with each swipe of my broom, I’m clearing out the old, stale energy and making clear a path and inviting in the new, creative energy!

Good ground work for beginning a new moon cycle.

I will also sit down today and make a new goal list.  Big things, little things, all of it!  We must acknowledge what we’re looking for or it can’t find us!

Below are three things that are at the very top of my list this month.  These are the things that I intend to focus upon most this cycle.

Firstly, I’ve been doing some EFT, hit and miss, for a couple weeks now.  I’ve been watching Brad Yate’s Tap O the Morning and I’m going to spin off from that and do my own EFT.

I’ve made a setup statement for Chakra Clearing which I’m going to start doing before my morning yoga.  I figure it would be nice to have a balanced energy upon beginning.  I’ve also made a setup statement for a “Great Day” round of tapping for after yoga and one for before bed to help me sleep soundly and restfully.

I know it seems like a lot, but a round of tapping only takes about 2 minutes, total time.  I think EFT is like any other daily practice.  Super easy to do and in no way time consuming.  We as humans tend toward failure just because we believe it can’t be THAT easy, and then we walk around looking for ways to make it harder.

I am going to commit to doing EFT every day for the next 28-30 days.  Ha! I know, how can you “commit” when you don’t even know how long you will be “committing” for?  I’m going to start today on the New Moon and continue until the next New Moon.  After that, I’ll see how I feel about it.

Secondly, I’m going to commit to doing my yoga every morning.  Here’s another thing that I enjoy doing, enjoy the benefits of, but can never nail down a regular practice.  Today will be day one of my 30 day, every day, yoga practice.  Even if I only roll through a sun salutation once or twice, I WILL do SOME yoga.  My body loves to bend and stretch and my mind enjoys the love and the focus.

The last large burst of self discipline I displayed was just over 4 years ago when I quit smoking cigarettes cold turkey and never turned back.  I feel almost as though it took so much effort that I have no discipline left!  As a stay-at-home mom, self discipline has never been high on my list of needs.  I have all the time in the world and all the things in the world to do.  They all get done when they get done.  I want to feel more in control of myself.  I want more self discipline in my life.  I want more routine.

What better time to focus on what I want to bring into my life than on the New Moon as the light is about to begin building!?

Lastly, for now at least..lol.. I’m going to be more mindful of the energy I project into the things I do.  I’ve got my new morning routine nailed down.  1) Chakra clearing EFT   2) yoga   3) great day EFT    Number 4 on this list is a quick set of morning chores that I blow through in the morning.  *Sift cat litter, feed cats, feed dogs, pick up bathroom, make my bed and pick up for 2 in my bedroom, empty dishwasher, load laundry*

I go through this list so mindlessly that sometimes I’ll stop later in the day and am unable to remember if I even DID my chores that morning.  No more.  I want to be mindful of myself and my thoughts and my energy projection while I complete my morning tasks.

Why shouldn’t I take the 3 minutes it takes to make my bed and focus my energy on it?  Focus upon how wonderful my marriage is and how in love I am and what a great husband I’ve been blessed with.  I mean, I think about those things anyway, why not project all that wonderful energy right into the bed I share with my husband?

And the animals!  When I feed and sift and care for them, why shouldn’t I focus upon how much I adore them?  Or upon their health and well being.

I know deep in my soul that I can literally accomplish anything with desire and intention.  I feel like I’m wasting my energy by just letting it drain out and not projecting it somewhere.  No more.

EFT Saves the Day

Greetings on this fine Thursday morning!!

I did NOT start out this morning well and I’d like to share with you how I pulled myself out of the place I was in and slapped a smile back on my face.

Firstly I need to tell you that I’ve been very interested in energy healing for quite some time now.  I have a couple of very awesome books on the body’s energy systems and I’ve been intending for over a year now to read into them more and become sort of a professional, amature energy healer.  Or in other words, practice on and heal my family and friends and anyone else in my community who would seek me, while not attending official classes or schooling.

Personally, I believe I am capable of learning anything.  I don’t need to pay the money to sit in the classroom to be preached at by a teacher.  I thrive when I learn as I do… and so that’s what I’ve been doing this week.

I started doing EFT every morning on Monday (5-24-2010) I think.  I should’ve wrote it down just so I have a record, and I’ll likely start today given my results thus far.  I came across this video on youtube by Brad Yates called Tap O’ the Morning.  It’s an EFT tapping sequence for starting your day right and being happy.

I’ve done EFT before with some noticeable results.  I relieved a massive headache with it once which surprised the heck out of me.  I also was able to get some relief from a kidney infection I was suffering from by tapping once.  It’s surprising, even to me, that I haven’t made this a more regular part of my life given that I find it actually works.  The beginning of this week was when I figured, there’s no time like the present, and so I started.

So, back to this morning.

Mike got called out at 5:30 this morning.  After he left, I was wide awake so I turned on the tv and thought I’d catch the weather report before I ventured forth.  Instead of weather, I caught the end of a news report, WITH pictures AND video of what they’re calling “The worst animal cruelty case to ever come out of Ohio.”

Being the incredibly sensitive person that I am, this means that at 5:30 this morning, I started my day horror struck, nauseated, and with tears of terror streaming down my face.  I sat there wondering how someone could be so savage and cruel to any living creature and why I had to turn on the tv and how on earth I was going to go about my day with these images now lodged in my mind.

That was when the idea struck me.  EFT.  I know the sequence.  Karate chop point with a 3x repeated affirmation, then the inner eyebrow, outer eyebrow, under eye, under nose, chin under bottom lip, collar bones (K-27), under arm/bra strap area, crown of head.  And so I did it, sitting there bawling, in such turmoil that I could actually feel physical pain in my chest for these animals, I did 5 or 6 rounds of EFT for the savagery that I had just seen.

When I’d finished the last round, I sat there rather shocked at the calm that I felt.  The tears had not only stopped but that gut wrenching, awful feeling was gone.  I was still deeply saddened by what I’d seen and heard, but EFT really IS the “Emotional Freedom Technique” because I felt as though the negative emotion had been just sucked right out of me.

So I’m off to have a wonderful Full Moon Thursday.  I feel so much lighter.  I may do another round or two after everyone leaves and the house is emptied for the day.  I’m really just totally astounded.  I’m so thankful that I was able to release those feelings.  I’m a firm believer in everything happening for a reason, always…. sort of makes me wonder if this morning was the reason for my sudden interest in EFT this week because Goddess knows I’d have had one hell of a day if I’d have held onto all that garbage and it was any other week.

My affirmation for today~ I choose to release unwanted emotions and embrace the love.
