June’s Lunar Garden Planting & Transplanting

My favorite days of June are here!

The kids are officially home for summer vacation. Our days will be filled with walks, swimming, cookouts, swimming, library visits, swimming, bike rides, swimming.

I ♥ Summer!!

As a side note to the lunar planting, our summer solstice (here in the North) will be happening on June 21st. And on Wednesday June 15th there will be a full moon with a lunar eclipse. We had three awesome group meditations for the New Moon and solar eclipse on June 1st. The group meet on the Full Moon promises to be awesome! If you’d like to attend, you can sign up here.

At 4:36am EDT yesterday, Friday June 3rd, the moon reentered the sign of Cancer. That means I’m spending the weekend transplanting the seeds that I started in Cancer last month. I love playing in the garden!

This month’s transplanting schedule is as follows:

Saturday June 4th is waxing in Cancer. I’m transplanting cabbage, lettuces, tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, and my herbs.

Sunday June 12th is waxing in Scorpio. I’ll be transplanting beans, squash, peas, peppers, and pumpkin.

Tuesday June 14th is waxing in Sagittarius. Time to transplant the onions.

Thursday June 16th is waning in Capricorn. Good for potatoes, beets, carrots, and radishes.

The best days to destroy weeds and trim to retard growth are:

Tuesday June 7th and all day Wednesday the 8th~

Tuesday June 14th and Wednesday June 15th~

Saturday June 18th and Sunday June 19th~

Thursday June 24th and Friday June 25th~

Tuesday June 28th and Wednesday June 29th~

These all make great days for mowing the lawn too ;)

May’s Lunar Garden Planting

Today I’m taking advantage of the New Moon happening RIGHT at the beginning of May, and I’ve been sitting here planning my planting schedule for the month.

Here’s what I ended up with after an hour.

The Calendar

And there you have it. A lunar planting calendar for the month of May, 2011.

From Friday May 6th @ 10:32 pm EDT until Monday May 9th @ 5:35 am EDT the moon is in its first waxing quarter and in Cancer. This is the perfect time for me to plant my lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumbers, watermelon, and herbs. *** That’s this coming weekend! ***

From Friday May 13th @ 11:56 am EDT until Sunday May 15th @ 12:31 pm EDT the moon is in its second waxing quarter and in Libra. This is the ideal time to plant flowers. Especially sunflowers. *** That’s next weekend! ***

From Sunday May 15th @ 12:31 pm EDT until Tuesday May 17th @ 7:09 am EDT the moon is in its second waxing quarter and in Scorpio. These are the days to be planting my beans, zucchini, pumpkin, peppers, and peas.

From Tuesday May 17th @ 1:22 pm EDT until Thursday May 19th @ 10:17 am EDT the moon is in its third waning quarter and in Sagittarius. Here is where we plant our onions.

From Thursday May 19th @ 4:16 pm EDT until Saturday May 21st @ 5:04 am EDT the moon is in its third waning quarter and in Capricorn. This is the time in the cycle to plant the potatoes, beets, and radishes.

And finally, on Tuesday May 24th from 8:24 am EDT until 2:52 pm EDT the moon is in its third waning quarter and in Pisces. In this small window of six and a half hours, get those carrots in the ground!

May 27th, 28th, and June 1st are PERFECT days to trim and weed to retard growth.

And that’s the garden!

Nineteen Days!!

March 1st, 2011

I woke up this morning with a smile on my face. Before my feet even touched the ground, I knew it was March first!

This is the month in which Spring officially comes, and I am SO excited! With nineteen days until Spring, I’ve just this very moment decided that a countdown is absolutely in order!

#19~ The return of the small, furry critters.

I was just calming the dogs a moment ago and realized the reason they were salivating at the back door was because there’s an entire FAMILY of squirrels in our tree out back.

It’s 40 degrees here, and the sun is shining brightly, and there’s a family of at least 4 running up and down the tree, playing. I took out a big scoop of corn and peanut critter feed and scattered it at the base of the tree.

I love small, furry critters :)
