Greeting my friends. Please forgive my being a few days slow on the draw.
Alan has been here since Wednesday and when your sixteen year old only visits for three days, once a month, you don’t spend all your time on your laptop writing. Dang kid will be eighteen in fourteen short months and who KNOWS when I’ll see him after that!
So thank you all for understanding why I’ve needed to be off swimming and cooking out and playing silly boardgames.

Today’s Book:
The Book of God~ The Bible as a Novel
By Walter Wangerin Jr.
I’m going to preface this review by first saying:
I was raised in a Christian home. I had the Bible read to me, a little at a time, twice during my youngest childhood years. I have always loved the Bible stories I was told. I especially love the new testament and all things Jesus.
On to my review.
WHAT AN AMAZING BOOK!!!
I LOVE it! I’m not even finished with it yet because it’s SO long. I have it on MP3, so I have been listening to it during my morning walk or in the car mostly.
There are twenty eight, hour to hour and a half long chapters. I am currently on chapter twenty.
There is no interpretation in here. This is no one’s opinion on what the Bible means. This is the Bible, told as a story. The lineage, the miracles, those stories that we all know, and a good many that most of us DON’T know.
So much incest and murder! Sordid affairs and betrayal! Edge of your seat kind of stuff!
It’s written in a more modernized language, though it doesn’t stray completely from the original grammar. And by original, I mean the King James version. I am very well aware that’s not really the original anything, but I think you know what I mean :)
I really can’t tell you how much I am LOVING this book. But I am a lover of the Bible. If you have any interest in the Bible, you’ll love this. I am so happy that I own this audio book and I can say without a doubt that I WILL listen to it again.
My raking for this book~
Hoard it! ~ I would put this book on my shelf and never let it leave my house.
