Luminosity in Limbo

Muted grace surrounds me.
The shades dull.
The blades drain.
Once striking yellows seem but stains of their former glory.
Cold, dewy mornings turning brown the flowers of the summer soon past.
A visual hush falls over the land.
A blanket of bland.
My eyes search for the vividness of life, but find not but this muted grace that surrounds me.
Soon grace will explode outward enveloping the grays and browns.
I wait with baited breath.
Meandering the river Styx between the summer and the autumn.
Anticipation building within me for a spectrum of glory that will soon infuse my senses.
The cycle nears complete.
Darkest night falls before brightest dawn.
The chill fingers of autumn coax forward the pallet of the harvest.
Out of the muted grace that surrounds me.

Also, I think it’s the promise of grays that make me bluesy, generally, in the fall.
