Mother Earth Day 2010
April 22nd, 2010
Happy happy happy happy happy Mother’s Day my dearest Mother Earth!
Earth day is sort of a special day for me. I mean, I know, it’s Earth day, but the path I’m on began Earth day 2008.
The first thing I ever did to consciously conserve was back on Earth Day in 2008 when, as suggested on tv, I unplugged everything in my home that wasn’t in use. This included lamps, cable boxes, toaster, toaster oven, can opener, tv in the family room and basement, etc. I did it for one month on a pretty regular basis. Sometimes I’d forget, but for the most part, I walked around unplugging things all the time.
I got my electric bill the next month and it had gone down $40! That’s freaking incredible! After that, I unplugged even the things I hadn’t before. I put the microwave, desktop computer, modems, and all televisions on power strips so you needed to flip the power switch before using and I started making a turn through the house every night on my way to bed to check all outlets when I locked the doors.
The next month, an additional $15 was missing from my bill. I was sold. Conserving energy was not only good for my environment, but it was also saving me an immediate $55 PER MONTH!
I even had an additional physical benefit that I can’t prove, but that I’m sure of none the less. I’ve had hormonal issues for years. Since I had Michael when I was 20 actually. My menstrual cycle would go anywhere from 24 days to 40 days instead of an average of 28 as it should be. I panicked multiple times thinking we were pregnant again. Not fun.
I started unplugging everything in my home, and 3 months later my menstruation normalized and has been perfectly balanced since. I made no connection until one year later, ON EARTH DAY 2009 when I was talking with someone about unplugging and suddenly made the connection in my head. I grabbed a calendar and counted backwards and could SEE that on the 3rd month after Earth Day, I was at 28 days and had remained consistent (after TEN YEARS of consistent inconsistency!).
Curious about the possible connection I looked it up and was ASTOUNDED at what I found. There is SUCH a connection! Do your own search. Electricity creates what is called an electromagnetic field, or EMF. Run a search on your favorite search engine for EMF hormone connection.
And this isn’t just a feminine issue guys! Men have hormones too! Menstruation involves progesterone, estrogen, testosterone, and THEN some. Men have all these hormones too! We, as watery humans are walking talking hormones. Electromagnetic fields affect EVERYONE! Even animals.
I’m off to the store to see a man about a horse…. no wait… to see about getting a lilac tree :) They are my favorite and I promised the boys that we would plant something large and permanent for our Mother Earth today. I hope you’re doing something for Her today too. Every tree and every bottle and every piece of trash counts. Honor your life, our planet, our Universe, our future generations and make a change for the better and start today!
