Manifest Tomorrow

March 29th, 2010

I’m really getting down to the wire!  Only 3 more days until we go on our family vacation to visit Ash in Colorado!  I could NOT be more excited!  I’ve got a bunch of  things to get done before we go which is leaving me, not pressed for time, but simply in possession of just enough time if I get to it and stay focused. (*Repeats mantra* Time expands to meet my demands…)

Today I’m making a non-post, post.  I absolutely don’t want to miss a day because posting the moon cycle has become rather important to me.  It helps me plan out my own life, so I can’t really take a break from planning my life.  If I do that, I’ll manifest by default.  I can’t think of a single reason on Earth why I would want to manifest by default when I can do it consciously with minimal effort.

Hey, maybe it’s not a non-post, post after all!  It’s a post post.

Life is going to manifest your tomorrows into existence whether you pay attention and plan for it or not.  Don’t manifest by default!  Why would you want to when everything you ever wanted is right at your fingertips?!  Be conscious.  Take the measly couple of minutes it will take you and plan the next day or two for yourself.  Do it by the moon, like me…. or do it any other way…. it doesn’t matter what your process is.  All that matters is that you acknowledge that your focus is stimulating creation.  Then take just a few moments to plan and focus.

~ Today, Monday (3-29-10) @ 2:55am EST, the Moon v/c until 7:21am this morning ~

I had a really productive weekend.  I got all those household chores out of the way.  All that laundry got washed.  I also spent some time on the computer looking up free things to do in Denver.  I see no reason why this vacation should break the bank.  Turns out there’s plenty of free things we can entertain ourselves with!  Ash says she’s got some secrets up her sleeve. (!) So excited!

~ When She rights her course @ 7:21am EST, She’ll move into Libra where She’ll remain, from Monday morning until 8:13am EST on Wednesday (3-31-10) ~

My almanac says: “Libra favors cooperation, compromise, social activities, beautification of surroundings, balance, and partnership.”

Creating order is the focus, but through pleasing interactions with others.  Libra solves problems through diplomacy, and we are better able to put aside our emotions in order to achieve the peace.

Libra is the natural ruler of the Seventh House of the Zodiac, and is also known as the “House of Marriage, Partnerships and Open Enemies.  It is here that the ” I ” is said to convert to the ” we.”  In this House, find focus on your closest friends and sweethearts, as well as enemies.  Recognize that all relationships serve a higher purpose.  There is always something to learn.

The Moon in Libra favors activities involving relationship and partnership issues, teamwork, cooperation, self-examination, balance, and beauty.

Some positive key words for Libra are: laid back, sociable, peace loving, idealistic, diplomatic, romantic, charming, balanced, equal, honest.

Some negative key words for Libra are: overly self-indulgent, indecisive, lazy, gullible, resentful, frivolous, easily influenced and manipulated.

~ Moon Manifestation Tarot Card ~

* Six of Swords *

I was excited by this card because I’ve never turned it in a reading thus far.  Being new to reading tarot, I’m still looking things up and really getting to know my cards.  I always find meaning in them though and I seem to do well reading for others so I’m really loving it.  I only find it unfortunate that the Universe had to hide my pendulum from me to make me finally take the hint to go into tarot… *God… Goddess… I’d like to have my pendulum back now please*

I would LOVE to think that this Six of Swords is indicative of my impending road trip halfway across the country, but I know in my heart it’s not.  For me, this card in about the blues I’ve been feeling.  I’ve had some changes happening in my life that have left me sort of… floundering.  But this card is good news.  This card is a moving forward.  I feel it too.  Maybe it won’t be an over night thing, but blue skies are on the horizon and I’m moving that direction.

~ My Plan: Monday morning through Wednesday morning ~

I’m off to nurture a relationship today and have lunch with my grandma.  Living 25 miles away keeps us from getting together as often as we’d like, so it’s nice to go have a sit and share a meal.

For the rest of today and tomorrow too, I plan to finish up the last of the things needing done at our rental.  There’s a good example of a relationship serving a higher purpose.  Hubby’s sister will be likely moving in with her 2 little grand kiddos (our great niece and nephew) while we’re in Colorado.  I’m so glad we’re able to do this for her.  I have grown so much from having known her and that abusive husband of hers.  I feel honored to be part of the great changes happening in her life.

Make a connection for yourself these two days in Libra.  Make a lunch date or curl up on the couch with your sweetie. *smiles*

A House Full of Spirit

March 27th, 2010

I am finding that a Spiritual path is very much individual to each of us.  I know many people do similar things and many people get ideas from other people, but overall, it’s a very unique and personal relationship we each have with the Universe.

I’ve become more and more Spiritual in nature over the past couple of years, and as it’s become more a part of who I am, I’ve ached to allow it to reach out into the rest of my life.  Allow my thoughts and views on conscious creation and my personal relationship with the God and Goddess to become a part many parts of my daily, normal life.

This has been happening for me this year.  It’s been a little at a time.  Baby steps.  But slowly I’ve gotten some pretty regular practices worked into my daily life and I couldn’t be happier about it.

8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8*8

Over this past moon cycle through Cancer (3-23-10 * 3-24-10) I said I was going to focus on my home, decor, and my emotional connection with the Universe, and I did.

I started by putting in one of my favorite CDs, Zen and the Art of Relaxation because I wanted to bring a calm, relaxed atmosphere to my surroundings.

Then I went to the shelf I like to use as an altar, lit a candle and said a brief prayer.  Basically just a prayer to allow me to bring peace and balance to my home and gratitude for the beautiful family that created the chaos :)

After that, I set to work in the kitchen.  It wasn’t terrible, just disorganized and messy with a dishwasher in need of emptying and reloading.  I normally despise cleaning the kitchen, but I was sort of into it that day.  I had thoughts of how I relate to the Universe and how the Universe relates to me floating around in my head.  After all, that’s what I’d already decided to focus upon for a couple days.

As I was wiping down and shining up my stove top, a thought suddenly struck me.  My stove is an altar!

I gather ingredients and combine them cauldron style there.  There’s always a purpose in what I do there and I’m always focused.  AND the hearth has always been known to be very important.  It’s the center of the home.

Also, years ago my marriage nearly fell apart.  We lived through a very hard year that was reconciled on the day it was going to end for good.  The following day, I was in a store and found myself looking at a plaque that said, “Life is Good” and I knew it was for me.  I brought it home and hung it over my stove because I wanted to be reminded, every day, of all the wonderful things in my life, and to never take them for granted.  My entire life and outlook changed that day.

So that was it.  I was suddenly looking at my entire stove in a completely different way.  I decided at that moment that, no matter what, my stove will remain clean and clear.  If the entire kitchen is coming apart at the seams, my stove top will be clean and shiny and beautiful.

I will approach my stove with reverence.  Not stoically but purposefully and gratefully and consciously.

I put a candle on the back of the stove and later when I went to cook dinner, I grabbed that candle and lit it with a prayer of gratitude and blessings for our food and health and family, and that was how I began my nightly ritual of cooking dinner.  It was refreshing and wonderful and I anticipate regularly repeating this new ritual.

BUT IT DIDN’T STOP THERE!!

I went on into the living room to clean up and I was going across my shelves with a feather duster and realized that I DO actually have a favorite shelf.  It’s a small area that holds things that I love.  Pictures of people I love.  Small things that make me feel good.  I threw a candle on it and called it an altar.  Really, this couldn’t be simpler!

If you walk into the home of a Catholic, you know it!  Their faith is displayed everywhere.

This is the same thing.  Having sacred areas, in what will end up being every room of my home, creates a place where, when my eyes fall there, I am immediately reminded that I am loved and blessed and one with all.

It gives me a sense of peace.  I feel like each room in my home is now a metaphor for life.  No matter how chaotic or askew it all becomes, there’s a sacred space in the center that is always pristine and perfect and happy and available to connect me to the One Life from where I am manifest.  A sacred space from where I may create, pray, and appreciate.  A vortex of peace.

I would LOVE to take some pictures to show you all, but alas, my camera battery is ca-put and I’m having an interesting time finding a replacement.  I will do so when I get my battery and make an update.

~ Today, Saturday (3-27-10) @ 3:04am EST, the Moon v/c until 6:57am this morning ~

I LOVE the spring!  I can’t believe the sun is rising so early now!  And I keep waking up to the sounds of bird songs!!

~ When She rights her course @ 6:57am EST, She’ll move into Virgo where She’ll remain, from Saturday morning until 2:55am EST on Monday (3-29-10) ~

My almanac says: “Virgo favors the accomplishment of details and commands from higher up.  Focus on health, hygiene, and daily schedules.”

Virgo is an Earth sign and places emphasis on things that you might describe as grounding.  Things that are practical, functional, nurturing, stabilizing, etc..

It’s time for practical activities under the influence of a Virgo Moon. The energy is fantastic for re-organizing and rethinking plans. Great satisfaction comes from solving problems, making order out of confusion, and helping others.

Health and well being are in focus. Virgo is the house of service, work and health and has a great focus on hygiene, physical fitness, cleanliness and attention to detail.

Some positive key words associated with Virgo are: meticulous, tidy, modest, reliable, diligent, practical, analytical, intelligent, hygienic, detail oriented, precise, wholesome, healthy and perfectionism, conservative.

Some negative key words associated with Virgo are: fussy, overly critical, harsh, excessively fastidious, finicky, a perfectionist, worry wart.

* Queen of Staffs *
This is just the energy I need to get through this weekend!  That happy, positive, upbeat, vibrant vitality.  A positive attitude and a great outlook will take me far this weekend through what needs doing.

~ My Plan: Saturday morning through Monday morning ~

Well, given that we’re taking a trip to Colorado April 1st (Yay!) I think this weekend in Virgo is a perfect time to wrap up all that meticulous trip planning.  I still have some details to attend to and I can’t imagine a more perfect time.  Come to think of it, I should probably deal with some household details too.  Don’t want to wait until the last minute.

My intention is to leave my home in a pristine state.  The only life moving around in here for a week will be the cats.  I don’t want to come home to any forgotten treasures in the trash that have stunk up the house, or anything else that might terrify me.  I also figure, I’ll likely need a vacation FROM my vacation, so I won’t want anything on the to-do list when I get back.

Have a great weekend!  I intend to :)

Stand Out!

March 25th, 2010

Over the last 2.5 years, I’ve changed the way my family eats.  I began to buy only whole grains and more fresh fruits and veggies.  I was changing my life and they were along for the ride.  All the changes being implemented were healthy, positive life changes, so no one was complaining.

One of the big changes is that I stopped buying processed snack foods so much.  Yes, you WILL find Ho-Hos in my cupboard once in a while, but you’re looking at maybe twice a year.

Does that mean we eat less sugar?  Heck yeah!
Does that mean we don’t eat snacks or that our snacks are less satisfying to the sweet tooth?  NOT A CHANCE!

By avoiding prepackaged snack foods, we cut out a TON of white sugar, white flour, preservatives, chemicals, & unpronounceable things from our lives.

Ive learned that, the trick to ditching all that garbage is to replace it.  That’s when I started stretching my baking muscle.

I’ve never been much of a baker and I never really liked it.  I love to cook.  Cooking is an impulsive thing, as am I.  Baking is much more precise.  One cup means exactly ONE CUP.  In cooking, one cup means, one cup… and a little more if you’re a fan of that flavor or a little less if you’re not… and a little more if you want a runnier consistency and a little less if you like it thicker…. I think my personality is more of a cook than a baker.  I’m not precise or exacting.  I like to wing it and go with the flow and see what happens.  This is NOT the way to bake! LOL That was a fast lesson learned.

Positive changes are best made in baby steps.  When we make too many changes at once, even when they’re positive in nature, we can burn out fast.  Making a change in your life is a marathon, not a sprint!  Small changes, one at a time, over a period of time so they have a better chance of becoming habits.  This is again where one month resolutions are very useful!

Here’s a great replacement for the prepackaged, processed, imitation food gunk they call snacks.  I made a batch for my family yesterday and they are fantastic! Enjoy!

El’s  “Yay Peanut Butter Cookies!”

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (I use a butter/olive oil mix)
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons milk (I used vanilla almond milk)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (Yes it’s a lot. We like vanilla. Feel free to use less.)
  • 1 3/4 cups whole wheat pastry flour (Or reg WW flour or put your WW flour in the food processor)
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a medium bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and peanut butter until smooth. Stir in egg, milk, and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; stir into the peanut butter mixture until well blended. Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  3. Bake for 12 minutes in the preheated oven. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Sorry Ash, I don’t know what it would be for high altitude.

~ Today, Thursday (3-25-10) @ 12:39am EST, the Moon v/c until 5:39am this morning ~

I spent the moon in Cancer focused on my home and my emotional connection to the Universe at large.  Wow!  I changed these three days.  My perspective on some things changed.  I’m just seeing things in a way that make my life a little bit easier and a little more enjoyable.  And I was already a considerably happy person :)  I WILL be posting about the experience in the near future.  Watch for *A House Full of Spirit*

~ When She righted her course @ 5:39am EST, She moved into LEO where She’ll remain, from Thursday morning until 3:04am EST on Saturday morning (3-27-10) ~

My almanac says: “Leo draws emphasis to the self, to central ideas or institutions, away from connections with others and emotional needs.  People tend to be melodramatic.”

The Moon in Leo speaks to our “inner child”.  It’s a completely warm, generous, and whole-heartedly loving position.  This is a time when we seek attention.  When we want to stand out for our special qualities.  Be appreciated for our uniqueness.  It’s a great time for romance and any creative activities also.

The Moon in Leo favors: Creative activities, activities involving children, undertakings in which personal recognition is desired, and risk-taking.

Some positive key words for Leo are: generous, honest, warm-hearted, broad minded, expansive, loving, pride, enthusiasm, creative, dramatic

Some negative key words for Leo are: pompous, patronizing, arrogant, bossy, interfering, intolerant, bully, conceit, snobbish, power crazy

* The World *
Another great draw for me :)  I believe that this is a sign for me to know that I am on the right track.  I am really finding my place and my joy these days.  The past few months have been amazing for me, but I’ve really begun to find my focus over the past month and it feels wonderful.

~ My Plan: Thursday through Saturday morning ~

I’m going to sit down here and type out my experience from the past couple of days in Cancer.  “The World” is encouraging me to do so, as is Leo.  My experience is all about who I am and my individuality in this sea of souls.  It’s all I really have to offer this world.  I do so in the hope that my contribution will make a difference for someone else.
