A Charm for Goal Setting

December 23rd, 2009

I just wrote a charm for my journal and I love it so much I want to share it. I got to thinking about the section of my journal where I write out my goals and intentions and I wondered if there was anything I could do to make that space more…. special…. sacred…. specifically focused.

My journal is a big, fat, three subject notebook. The first section is my journal. I use it for my everyday journaling about whatever. The second section is extra. I use it for jotting down things or writing out spells, charms, or affirmations. I have a three ring binder where I keep all of these things for organizational purposes but that’s a whole other post.

The third section is where I write my goals and intentions, along with any thoughts or feelings I have about them. On the thin cardboard separator that serves as the “cover” of my intention/goal journal, I’ve written this charm:

~ I call upon the powers untold ~
~ I will the desires herein, unfold ~
~ For the highest good of Everyone ~
~ As it has been written, so it shall be done ~

I read through this charm once before I even open my journal and then again after I’ve written whatever I’m writing. I know it takes faith and I know magic is a very personal thing and I want to encourage you to have faith in whatever YOU believe in. As far as your magic goes, the more of yourself you put in, the more you’re going to get out.

If you’d like to copy my charm and use it for yourself, I give my full permission for that. However, I implore you to at least change it up a little. Add your own words or feelings. Make it your own. Life is subjective and so is magic.

Here we are, only a few days after the Solstice. The light is building and so is your life. It’s taking shape for the next year to come. Take advantage and grab the reigns. You’re in control and you have the power!

Manifest the life of your dreams!!!

  1. That’s a nice, short, sweet little charm, El.

Part of my task this week is to set my intentions for next year. Mind if I borrow this? ;-)

  2. Oh – and hey, THANK YOU! for putting my blog in your favorite blogs in the sidebar. I’m flattered! ;-)

Hope you all had a great holiday this week – Yule, Solstice, Christmas – whichever one(s) you celebrated.

  3. I really should *not* comment on blogs at such an hour – lol. I just noticed I put my *other*blog link in my previous couple of comments. DOH It must be time for bed!

He he he he! You crack me up girl!

    * No, I don’t mind at all if you use my little charm. I’d be delighted to share.

*You’re welcome :) I’ve been browsing you lately and I like your blog. Best spread is by word of mouth in my experience… I DID have (am having) a fantastic holiday. Yule, Solstice, Christmas… all of em. I’m currently teaching my children about all this stuff so we sat down and googled all kinds of holiday key words and read about Yule and Solstice and Christmas… and where all these traditions come from. It was very fun. The kids had a blast.

*You can link to whatever ya want if ya comment :) Although 2 am is a touch on the “what are you… crazy” side. LOL ((Hugs))

  5. Gah! I gotta subscribe to your comments. ;-) Didn’t see this response til now. SORRY!

    * Good! And thank you.

    * I agree – word of mouth is the best way. And thank you again. I’ve also linked to you now too. ;-) We pretty much celebrate all of them too. We did the google all kinds of keywords a few years back as well and the kids had a blast learning about the various traditions and what-not. It’s a fun thing to do!

    * And yes, I am crazy. Just ask my kids! LOL

    Hehehe

I love the researching. Kids WANT to understand. That’s how I strayed from the religion I was raised in… I WANTED to understand and no one would talk or explain or even validate… they just told me to shut my mouth and do what I was told.
I LOVE that my kids are so curious and I do my best to help them learn to their hearts desire. Our children are our future and knowledge is power.
